Knoxville, Tennessee is a hot spot for millennials. Not only is the city booming with fun things to do, the University of Tennessee is awesome too! If you are moving to Knoxville and are looking to attend the University of Tennessee, there is good news if you have credits from a previous school that you need transferred.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that the university received around 1,200 transfer students during the 2014-2015 school year. With the Tennessee Promise, the number of transfer students is looking at a sharp increase over the coming academic years. The Tennessee Promise guarantees that students who are finishing their first two years at community college will be able to successfully transfer their credits to the university, rather than having to retake certain classes.
Knoxville movers are excited to see if the initiative will be more of an incentive for millennials who were looking to move to Knoxville but decided not to due to their non-transferable credits. The Tennessee Promise program is currently in place for transfer students from Pellissippi State Community College and will be expanding to more community colleges throughout the state during the next year.
