Knoxville Football Games Rescheduled for After Halloween

If you are moving to Knoxville before Halloween night, your family will not have to choose between trick-or-treating and the hometown football team thanks to efforts between athletic directors and school board members.

Numerous high schools across the state of Tennessee are rescheduling their October 31st football games, not only to avoid potential Halloween jokesters and their pranks, but also to avoid low attendance.

Lowered attendance to the schools’ games means lower ticket sales and profit for the schools, so to make everyone happy, the high schools will postpone their Halloween games.

According to Morristown East High School’s Athletic Director Morgan Watkins, “The No. 1 reason we’re moving it is to accommodate our players, coaches and staff and to not to compete with everyone in the community.”

A total of 68 games will be rescheduled throughout all of Tennessee, 17 of which involve Knoxville teams, and 15 games will continue to take place as scheduled.

Perhaps the most notable games that will be rescheduled is the Farragut’s game at Maryville and Heritage’s at Hardin Valley.

If you are new to the area, you most likely will not be missing out on the football action this Halloween, so enjoy trick-or-treating this Friday and check your schools for the reschedule dates. All My Sons Moving & Storage of Knoxville wishes everyone to have a safe and happy Halloween!
