Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity have built three new homes in Knoxville for three immigrant families in the city. The Knoxville movers at All My sons have more info on this great example of community working together: All three families were living in Knoxville apartments at the time, raising children under less than ideal circumstances. The Knoxville Habitat for Humanity said that all of the families are Burmese and they escaped religious persecution in their homelands to make the dangerous journey to the United States.
In order to help raise up the community and help these families in needs, Habitat from Humanity decided to take action and selected these three families as the next recipients for new homes in Knoxville. The volunteers moved fast, almost as fast as the All My Sons Knoxville movers, and built all three homes in under 1 week. The homes are located next to each other in order to foster the sense of community that is so important to them.
Of the three families chosen to receive a new home in Knoxville, Tun and Kham are the youngest. Both are brand new parents to a baby boy. They said they were so happy to have been given this opportunity to have a tangible piece of property that they can raise a family and hopefully pass onto their children. The homes are not given for free. Each family must work 500 hours of what Habitat for Humanity calls “sweat equity”. Something that our Knoxville movers know all too well. Only once they have out in the time and effort to give back to their communities, only then they are given the chance to own their own homes.
