2014 FangCon

If you are moving to Knoxville before November 6th and love furry creatures…check out the 2014 FangCon.

“Furries” is a subculture whose members assign anthropomorphic qualities to animals and then dress up as them. Originally founded by a group of Tennessee furries from the TNfurs.net forums, “Fang” stands for Furry Anthropomorphic Nashville Gathering.

This one of a kind event brings furry fans from all over. Attendees say that they typically relate or identify with the animal that they dress-up as. Not only does the convention help celebrate animals, a portion of proceeds go to raise awareness towards animals.

Featured activities at FangCon are a parade, charades, nightly dances, music show, informational sessions, art, and special guests. Helpful hint before attending FangCon: do not attend if you do not like to sing, as they explain everything in songs.

Although FangCon says that it is family friendly, activities at FangCon can often get rated higher than PG so it’s best to get a babysitter for this one.
